The Australian Association of Practice Managers (AAPM) represents Practice Managers and the profession of Practice Management. Founded in 1979, AAPM is a non-profit, national association recognised as the professional body dedicated to supporting effective Practice Management in the healthcare profession, the AAPM:  

 

  •  Represents and unites practice managers and the profession of Practice Management throughout the healthcare industry
  •  Promotes professional development and the code of ethics through leadership and education
  •  Provides specialised services and networks to support quality Practice Management.

The AAPM has a National Board, State Branches and Regional Groups. The National Board consists of representatives from State Branches. Its function is to manage the overall direction of AAPM including areas such as membership and accreditation, education, marketing, publications and regulations. State Branches conduct education programs, including courses, seminars and workshops. Regional Groups are established to meet the needs of members living in the same locality.

AAPM offers access to information or professional resources that will assist Practice Managers to improve the performance of a practice. AAPM can offer advice and direction on staff issues, management principles, awards and conditions.
