Esset Australia industry focused provision of skill development programs has led to numerous state and national industry accreditations, including the Records Management Association of Australasia (RMAA), Dental Assistants' Education Council of Australia (DAECA), Liquor Licensing Victoria and recognition by the Australian Association of Practice Managers (AAPM).
Partnership with AMA Tasmania
National training organisation, Esset Australia, and the Australian Medical Association (AMA) Tasmania are delighted to announce the joint provision of the nationally recognised Certificate III in Health Support Services (Client/Patient Support Services) qualification from June 2006.
The Certificate III in Health Support Services program enables medical receptionists and other health support staff to gain skills essential for the delivery of high quality healthcare including:
- Medical accounts
- Patient records
- Confidentiality, security and privacy
- Infection control
- Manual handling and
- Intermediate first aid certification
Medical practices, private and public hospitals and nursing homes now have the opportunity to provide reception and support staff with training that promotes effective risk management strategies, provides nationally recognised qualifications and leads to the provision of an overall improved healthcare service that benefits the entire community.
The Health Support Services program is delivered through a blend of seminars, on-the-job coaching and distance based materials.
This is the new initiative in a broadening range of services offered by AMA Tasmania to support and enhance GP and Specialist practices and their employees. The combined efforts of AMA Tasmania and Esset Australia highlights the high quality and relevant programs available to all Tasmanian medical and health organisations.
Phill Bevan, Managing Director of Esset Australia, outlined AMA Tasmania support for the program as "further evidence to the high quality of Esset Australia's training materials, strategies and courses in the medical and health support area."
Enrolments are currently being taken for the Health Support Services program for commencement in June 2006, and places are available for both government funded and fee paying participants. The program will feature rolling enrolment intakes throughout the year. The Health Support Services program is available as a new apprenticeship pathway in Tasmania.
Health Qualifications for Practice Support Staff
Esset Australia, and AMA Tasmania, are undertaking a joint provision of the nationally recognised Certificate III in Health Support Services (Client/Patient Support Services) qualification in 2006.
The program enables health support staff to gain skills essential for the delivery of high quality healthcare, and offers great benefits to medical practices supporting their employees to undertake the program, including:
- recognising and raising the skill level of employees
- overcoming real workplace issues and needs
- professional development activities aligned to the needs of practice accreditation processes
- accreditation of employees at an industry set standard of competency
- government incentives for the participation of eligible employees
The program is delivered through a blend of one day seminars, on-the-job coaching visits with each participant within their practice work environment and distance based materials.
